The vacancy
The Dean Close Foundation is looking to appoint a Singing Visiting Music Teacher (VMT) to join its dynamic and well-established Music Department starting in September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality individual singing tuition within a thriving co-educational prep school. The role offers scope to build and develop a strong teaching practice, with the potential for hours to grow over time.
You will deliver engaging and high-quality one-to-one singing lessons and support pupils in preparing for performances and graded examinations.
Music is central to school life, with a vibrant programme of concerts, productions, and ensembles throughout the year. The department includes over 25 Visiting Music Teachers and benefits from excellent facilities, including dedicated teaching spaces and a professional theatre.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their strong teaching and performance experience in singing, and who can teach across a range of styles, for example classical and musical theatre.
