The Dean Close St. John’s School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and reliable Gap Year Tutor to join our friendly and busy Preparatory School for the 2026/27 academic year. Following induction training in late August, the successful candidate will play a full and active role in both boarding and day school life.

Working closely with the House Parents, Deputy Headmaster and Head of Boarding, you will support pupils across a wide range of activities. In the Boarding House, duties include assisting at breakfast and mealtimes, supervising pupils, supporting evening activities, preparing snacks, helping with laundry, and taking part in weekend boarding on a rota basis.

During the school day, responsibilities include classroom assistance in both Prep and Pre-Prep (supporting individuals and small groups across various subjects), helping with Pre-Prep swimming lessons, assisting with PE, Games and match fixtures, supervising break times, supporting after-school clubs, and providing general administrative and classroom support where required.

This is a varied and rewarding role offering valuable experience for someone considering a career in education, childcare, or coaching, and who is keen to contribute fully to the life of a vibrant school community.
