The vacancy
The Dean Close Foundation is looking to appoint an experienced and dynamic individual to oversee all aspects of the School’s US Program, from admissions through to graduation. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the continued success, reputation and growth of the Program within the School and the wider US and military communities.
The successful candidate will act as a central point of contact for prospective and current families, working closely with the International Admissions Lead to manage applications, tours and interviews. They will oversee the academic provision of the Program, teach within it, and support pupils’ progression to American secondary and tertiary institutions, including the administration of SAT and ACT assessments and the preparation of transcripts and credit trackers.
The role involves close liaison with a range of stakeholders, including the US Department of State, US Embassy (London), US Air Force, DoDEA, Non-DoD schools and local military bases. The postholder will also support accreditation requirements with the Middle States Association (MSA) and contribute to the promotion of the Program at open days, military events and educational conferences.
In addition, the role includes ongoing pastoral and community engagement with US families, organisation of key events, and fulfilling the wider responsibilities of a Kingham Hill School teacher, including tutor, boarding and weekend duties as required.
