The vacancy
Dean Close Pre-Preparatory School is seeking an enthusiastic, reflective and caring Year One Teacher to join our team on a full-time maternity cover contract from September 2026 until June 2027.
This is a wonderful opportunity to teach within a nurturing, ambitious and values-led pre-prep environment where children are known, loved and encouraged to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Working closely with a parallel Year One teacher and supported by a strong staff team, the successful candidate will deliver high-quality, creative teaching that ensures continuity, consistency and care for our pupils during this period of maternity cover.
As part of the Dean Close Foundation, the role offers the chance to contribute to a vibrant Christian community, that foster and shaped by the values of love, courage and contribution, where professional growth, collaboration and pupil wellbeing sit at the heart of school life. In addition to classroom teaching, the post includes responsibility for coordinating Geography across the Pre-Preparatory School and leading an extra-curricular club, allowing staff to contribute meaningfully to the wider life of the school.
