This is a Temporary, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

Dean Close Foundation are looking to appoint Kitchen Assistants to support our busy school catering department. This is a zero hour contract, working around your schedule, with the view to potentially offering suitable applications a career path in other catering roles, including Commis, Sous and Head Chefs.

You will be working alongside experienced catering staff providing a daily meal provision for our students and staff but producing high quality meals. Other roles and responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of ingredients and meals suitable for the daily provision
  • To ensure that all food is prepared, cooked and presented to the highest possible standards, whilst adhering to all requirements and regulations as set out in the School Food Hygiene and Health & Safety Manuals.
  • To ensure all food is ready for service at the times stated.
  • To ensure all food is tasted prior to service, ensuring it meets the required taste profile of the dishes listed.
  • To ensure all food is appropriately garnished prior to service, matching the cultural origin and is colourful.
  • To assist in making sure that all functions are catered for to the highest possible standard.
