Dean Close Foundation are looking to appoint an Organ Scholar for our Choral and Music department. This is an exciting role for a candidate who wants to immerse themselves in musical life at Dean Close and Tewkesbury Abbey.

This is a fixed term role for 12 months, with the successful candidate starting in September 2025. This is suitable role of a postgraduate or gap year student, with potential this could be extender for a second year. Roles and responsibilities include:

  • To play for services in the school Chapel as required
  • To act as repetiteur for Choral Society, Chamber Choir and Chapel Choir rehearsals
  • To assist with stewarding and accompanying music scholarship auditions, school concerts and ABRSM examinations
  • To take weekly music theory / aural classes covering Grades 1-5 with Choristers and other music scholars
  • To assist with the training of the choristers of Tewkesbury Abbey Schola Cantorum
