Dean Close School is seeking to appoint a passionate full-time Teacher of Modern Languages for the new term in September 2024..

The Department is committed to fostering students’ curiosity and passion for languages. It runs various trips and visits during the year, including study tours to Montpellier and Salamanca. Film evenings, visits from university languages departments and taster sessions in other languages combine to make the department a vibrant and exciting place to be and work.

Other roles and responsibilities include:

  • Teaching pupils who study French from years 9-13 and Spanish up to GCSE, within the allocated teaching sets
  • Supporting the Head of Department with some delegated departmental tasks
  • Communicating effectively with the Head of Department, parents, tutors and house masters/mistresses on matters relating to pupils
  • Attending Parents’ Receptions/Meetings
  • Acting as a tutor

Provisional interview dates are due to be held from the 18th of March 2024, with the successful candidate starting from 1st September 2024, upon completion of successful pre- employment checks.
