This is a Permanent, Part Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

Dean Close St John’s is looking to appoint a new Year 2 teacher, for 2.5 days a week, to start on the 28th August 2024.

We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about learning and aware of the continuity of learning from EYFS to KS2 and beyond. They will need to be committed to see all pupils are encouraged to reach their potential and be able to work closely with other members of Pre-prep staff to provide outstanding teaching and learning for our pupils.

As well as teaching, they would contribute to the pastoral and extracurricular life of the school. Other roles and responsibilities include:

  • To teach a range of subjects in Key Stage 1.
  • To deliver differentiated and appropriately planned lessons.
  • To direct any additional adults in the class to support the children’s learning.
  • To extend and challenge able pupils and support and encourage less able pupils.
  • To monitor, evaluate and review pupil progress and attainment.
  • To attend relevant parent meetings and comment on pupil progress.
  • To ensure pastoral care for all pupils whether day or boarding.
  • To contribute to the extra-curricula programme.
  • To participate in meetings, discussions and management systems necessary to co-ordinate the work of the school as a whole.
